Plant of the Month for April - Alpines

A rock garden or small rockery is an ideal location to plant Alpines, however they are also happy in pots and planters and can be used for low maintenance blocks of colour in gardens of any size. Popular alpines include Arabis for its shape and delicate flowers, Aubrieta which trails and spreads quickly and creates a sea of colour when in flower, Ajuja an easy-to-grow, spreading shrub is ideal for ground cover and filling gaps and Saxifrage which is able to grow almost anywhere!
