Plant of the Month for March - Primrose

Alongside early bulbs, these cheerful, robust plants provide bright, vibrant colour in the early months of the year. They are happy in most soils and can be planted in pots, containers or directly in borders. Primroses prefer to be in the sunshine or partial shade but can generally look after themselves with their buds safely sheltered underneath the open flowers above. Their resilience and adaptability makes them a perfect choice for both novice and experienced gardeners. There are over 500 species of primrose and they all symbolise love, luck and new beginnings.
