Welcome to Lakeside Plant and Garden Centre - often called the “Best Kept Secret in Telford” by our customers. We are a family owned business which was started in 2005 by Steve Evans and was later supported by Kevin Turley who together have over 60 years experience in plant and garden care. Our objective was to create a business which was much more than a garden centre. We wanted to offer our visitors an experience that will bring them back time and time again by offering the best quality plants and equipment all at competitive prices, friendly knowledgeable staff and a personal service in a relaxing open environment.
Since then, with the support of our customers, our business has continued to grow with our site now covering over 2 acres on a Greenfield site close to Priorslee Lake. In addition to offering one of the largest ranges of high quality plants in Shropshire we also cater for all your gardening needs including tools, pots and tubs, ornaments, water features, bespoke furniture and everything you would expect in garden care.
We also carry a wide selection of bird care products including houses, cages and feed, a range of gift items and special occasion ranges such as for Easter, Halloween, Christmas and the New Year.
We are also proud to participate in the Telford and Wrekin Council TLC Card scheme where registered residents can enjoy a further 10% discount on all of full price products.
Also as we grew we created a rescue centre for a range of animals including wallabies, mara, kuni kuni pigs, guinea pigs, rabbits, pigmy goats , chickens and ducks. This has proved so popular that the rescue centre has now developed into an Animal Park which now includes meerkats, which is very popular with families and local schools who visit us to learn about and feed our animals in our unique and dedicated park.
Children can also enjoy themselves in our sandpit, whilst their families browse around our centre or relax and enjoy refreshments, fresh locally made pastries and cakes or an ice cream in our award-winning Lakeside Court Café.
We also actively support local charities including the PDSA, Salvation Army, Scouts and Cub groups and our large car park is ideal for hosting our very popular events such as the tropical animal shows. Our involvement with the community also extends to working with local schools, including Redhill Primary School, Priorslee and Overley Hall Special Needs School. We also run a care programme for small animals, with students from Madeley Academy.
Where possible all our products are locally sourced, all our packaging is recycled and we consciously make every effort to minimise our carbon footprint.
We also have Quackers Play Barn nearby where children can continue to enjoy themselves once they have visited us.
We like to think that, as we have grown, we can now offer a unique experience and an enjoyable day out for all the family and earn the reputation that we are .........
